Oprah Winfrey Quote

Image
Quote by Oprah found on Pinterest  Speaking positive personal confessions and scriptures out-loud, along with having an expectant attitude toward prosperity and positive living has also become a daily routine for me and it has had a tremendous effect on my life.  Speaking prosperity, for example:  "I always have more than enough!"   "My cup runneth over!" " I'm a giver with plenty to give!" " God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus!" " Everything I put my hands to prospers and succeeds!" And declaring positive statements about your life, for example:  "This is my year for a breakthrough!" " This is my year of increase!" "This is my best year yet!"   "I am healthy and happy!"  " I love my life!" Through my Bible studies, church and some of Joyce Meyer's books and teachings...

"The Reality Check Has Been Written and Cashed"

Image
- Sean Stephenson During my morning mentor session today I watched part of a video that featured Sean Stephenson as the first speaker. It was about gratitude.  I have to admit, I didn't get past his short segment  of the video because his message was incredibly powerful and I became so inspired to write this blog post and to share this message that has been brewing inside of me for some time, just waiting for the right time to be released.  Now is that time.  Here is the message: Whatever problems you are facing in your life, whatever trials you are going through, there will always be someone else facing bigger problems or going through something worse.   Are you making a small frustration or obstacle in your life into a BIG deal? Have you ever found yourself so frustrated, stressed out and fed up with a small thing that you've turned it into a big issue and you've lost your joy over it,  while all the while, in all actuality the thing t...

Serving Others Well

Image
When you follow the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", then serving others well becomes a natural, innate part of your life.  This is nothing new. We have all heard this phrase, and for some of us it was a moral lesson consistently taught to us by our loving parents.  To serve others well simply means to put yourself in their shoes and see their wants, needs, desires, goals, ambitions, and dreams as if they were your very own, and then to work hard doing everything you can to help meet those needs or to make those things a reality for them.  Are you in sales? Do you provide a specific service? Are you a blogger or writer? Whatever your job, business, or service is, simply ask yourself "what would I want or expect in this situation if the roles were reversed?"   Then, honestly answer that question and make the necessary adjustments, if any.  And i f the product, service or writing isn't something that you would...

The Importance of Mentors

Image
Mentors inspire us into action, challenge us out of our comfort zones, strengthen our resolve towards our goals, encourage us when we're ready to quit, and enable us to bridge the gap between where we are and where we want to be through their previous failures and successes. And much, much more.  For successful people mentors are a must. There isn't a question about it. Everyone needs a mentor, especially when one is embarking on the journey of changing one's life.  Take one of my mentor's, Jim Rohn, for example. He shared so much in his lifetime about change and successful living and his teachings have inspired and continue to inspire so many people even today. Jim said:  "Life is about constant, predictable patterns of change, and the only constant factor will be our feelings and attitudes toward life. We as human beings have the power of attitude and that attitude determines choice, and choice determines results.  All that we are and all that we c...

Determinator

Image
What IS a Determinator?  According to TV Tropes the answer is:  A character - good or evil, male or female, young or old - who never gives up.  Ever . No matter what. There is no stopping the Determinator. They do not understand tact. They do not  Know When to Fold 'Em , and it's a waste of time to  tell them the odds . No one can reason with them. They'll  do whatever they have to   without question.  No price is too great  to pay for success, up to and including their own life (and others'). Do not expect them to realize they might be better off letting it go, even if  they can barely stand . If you're ever kidnapped or lost with no hope of rescue, they'll be the one  who will find you . Their adversaries will shout, in exasperated rage,  "Why Won't You Die?!" . For them, there is no line between "perseverance" and "insanity." Some Real-Life Determinators, according to TV Tropes, are:...

Dreams & Visions for Your Future

Dreams & Visions for Your Future Do you dream of a future full of success, happiness and prosperity?  It all begins with a single thought.  Followed by a dream and shadowed by a vision.  And finally pursued physically by action.  You can create the future you desire to live, if only you will put your mind to it!  One of the most important lessons I have learned is this: I am where I am in life because of my own thoughts . It is not my upbringing, or life circumstances, or even the hand that I was dealt that had kept me from living an abundant, fulfilled, joyful life.  It was my wrong thinking. Once I began to earnestly seek God and His desire for my life, I began to discover that I did not believe that I was worthy of such a life. This hard truth made me examine even further my negative thoughts, actions, and situation in life.  After grasping the reality that God has a plan for my life:...
